Community complaints in the area of Wildwood Lane prompted a drug investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office earlier this month.

Two people have been charged, according to a press release.

Tiffany Ann Patterson, 28, of 102 Wildwood Lane, is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

William Tyrone Wellington, 44, of 216 Chase St., is charged with felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the release, Deputy Ben Smith began conducting surveillance operations on Ms. Patterson's address after receiving multiple complaints of drug activity. While watching the house, Smith conducted a vehicle stop resulting in the seizure of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. That cleared the way for a search of Ms. Patterson's residence.

Once inside the home, deputies found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Patterson was charged and placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

"There was enough to charge her with possession, but not enough to be of significant value," Maj. Tom Effler said.

On Saturday, the investigation shifted to Eureka. Deputies made contact with Wellington and from their interaction found him to be in possession of crack cocaine, the press release said. Wellington was charged and placed in the Wayne County jail under a $2,500 secured bond.
