Local teenager dies Sunday after motorcycle runs off road

A Fremont man died Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding left the roadway and struck a ditch, according to the N.C. State Highway Patrol.
Christian Sullivan, 19, 2331 Airport Road, died riding a 2007 Kawasaki along Capps Bridge Road just after 12 p.m.
The motorcycle left the roadway, struck a ditch and continued on until striking a culvert, Sgt. Maurice DeValle said.
Sullivan was thrown from the motorcycle and, due to the speed and the impact, succumbed to his injuries, DeValle said.
Sullivan was not wearing a helmet, according to the patrol report.
