Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force officers arrested an alleged heroin trafficker in the area of North Spence Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Darrell Keith Foye, 56, 207 S. Carolina St., is charged with trafficking heroin four to 14 grams. He is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
After conducting a traffic stop, officers found Foye in possession of 450 bindles of heroin -- an amount with an estimated street value of up to $5,000.
According to a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the drug task force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force were continuing an investigation into the illegal distribution of heroin in and around Wayne County when agents identified Foye as a mid-level heroin distributor.
The investigation is ongoing.
