Benefit motorcycle ride to be held Saturday

A benefit poker run will be held Saturday for Jerry Grimes of Mount Olive, a well-known member of the motorcycle community having worked with Fun Products Motorcycle Mall for nearly two decades.
Grimes, 68, has been diagnosed with a mysterious illness believed to be neurosarchoidosis -- a long-term disorder that affects the nervous system. He has been rendered unable to walk and has suffered complications requiring multiple hospital stays.
Registration for the benefit will be at 8 a.m. at Shelton's Harley Davidson of Goldsboro with stands up 9 a.m. The first stop will be at the Little Brown Jug, Smithfield; the second at Shelton's Harley Davidson of Smithfield; the third at Cycle Max of Wilson; and the final stop when the cards will be revealed at Fun Products of Goldsboro.
Entry fees are $20 for bikes or cars and $10 for passengers.
Prizes best hand, second place, third place, worst hand and most miles traveled. There will be a 50/50 drawing and cake auction as well.
Barbecue plates will be sold. The cost is $7 per plate.
Donations are welcome and checks should be made payable to Jerry Grimes Benefit and mailed to Tracy Grimes, 206 W. Tarheel Drive, Mount Olive, N.C. 28365.
