Man, 21, killed in wreck Friday

A Wayne County man was killed Friday when the vehicle he was driving ran off the road near Fremont, struck a tree and overturned.
Kyle Casey, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to a report, Casey was traveling north on N.C. 581 at about 3:30 a.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line of the highway. He apparently overcorrected and ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and flipped over.
The accident happened about five miles west of the town of Fremont.
Troopers said Casey was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not considered to be a factor in the crash, according to the report.
Funeral services will be held today at 5 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.
