The City of Goldsboro Public Works Department will begin its annual unidirectional water line flushing program Sunday at 10 p.m. and will run until 6 a.m. daily except for Friday and Saturday.
The six-week flushing program is expected to last until July 1 unless inclement weather or extreme cold temperatures prevent flushing on some days.
Residents may observe discolored water during the process.
If so, the city recommends running cold water for a short period of time, and if that does not correct the problem or if there are other questions, contact the public works department at 919-734-8674 from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays.
