Not to be upstaged by their active duty counterparts, members of the 916th Air Refueling Wing learned Wednesday that they, too, had received an "Excellent" on an inspection designed to test their ability to complete wartime missions.

Seymour Johnson Air Force Base's Reserve unit, which is comprised of nearly 1,000 Reservists and 300 active duty airmen, was graded on its ability to plan and generate KC-135 Stratotankers to provide fuel to combat aircraft during contingency operations.

And its commander, Col. Gregory Gilmour, said the wing didn't disappoint.

"This is the wing's fifth consecutive excellent rating for this type of inspection," he said. "Our people have spent countless hours preparing to show these inspectors that not only do we know our jobs, but that we're the best in the business at it. (The 'excellent' rating) just helps solidify that fact."

The news came less than two months from the announcement that the 4th Fighter Wing had an "Excellent" on its Operational Readiness Inspection.
