Cops on top of the shop for a good cause

Goldsboro Police Sgt. Dale Foster stands atop the roof of the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on Ash Street Saturday. The "Cop on Top" event was held by local law enforcement to raise money for the North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. From 6 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Sunday, Foster stayed on the roof of the business, watching as officers and Special Olympics' athletes collected donations from patrons to help raise funds for the Special Olympics. They collected $1,800. Their next fundraiser is the Flame of Hope Golf Tournament on May 10.
