Senior Games start on Monday

The 2013 Wayne County Senior Games start Monday, with 313 competitors from ages 55 through 90 registered.

Competition will be in various arenas: Performing arts, heritage, visual and literary arts, golf, bowling and assorted track and field events.

Here is a listing of the events:

April 22 -- Bowling singles at Boulevard Lanes at 10 a.m.

April 23 -- Bowling doubles at Boulevard Lanes at 1 p.m.

April 24 -- Bowling mixed doubles at Boulevard Lanes at 10 a.m.

April 25 -- Golf at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course at 10 a.m. (No viewers allowed on the green.)

April 26 -- Golf rain date

April 29 -- Celebration of the games at Services on Aging at 9 a.m.; Silver Striders Fun Walk immediately following.

April 29 -- Shuffleboard at Herman Park Center, behind the building at 11 a.m.

April 30 -- Horseshoes at Herman Park Center, behind the building at 9 a.m.

April 30 -- Croquet at Herman Park Center on the front lawn at noon.

April 30 -- Billiards at Services on Aging at 1 p.m.

May 1 -- Basketball shoot at Family Y at 9 a.m.

May 1-- Cornhole at Herman Park Center at 9 a.m.

May 1 -- Swimming at Family Y at 10 a.m.

May 1 -- Putt Putt at All Stars at 1 a.m.

May 1 -- Table tennis at the W.A. Foster Center at 1 p.m.

May 2 -- Track events at Wayne Academy beginning at 9 a.m. (discus, shot put, 5K run, 5K walk)

May 2 -- Softball throw, football throw and spin casting at Wayne Academy at 10 a.m.

May 2 -- 100-meter dash and cycling at Wayne Academy at 10:15 a.m.

May 2 -- 1,500-meter race-walk and 1500M Run at Wayne Academy at 10:30 a.m.

May 2 -- 800-meter run at Wayne Academy at 11 a.m.

May 2 -- 400-meter dash at Wayne Academy at 11:15 a.m.

May 2 --200-meter dash at Wayne Academy at 11:30 a.m.

May 3 -- All ties will be broken at original event location at 9 a.m.

May 3 -- Awards luncheon at Herman Park Center at 11:30 a.m.

May 7 -- Silver Arts Follies at Paramount Theater at 6 p.m. No cost, open seating
