Wayne County Public Schools will hold its annual Teacher Job Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the gymnasium at Goldsboro High School. Prospective teachers can visit and learn about the programs and job opportunities at the district's 31 schools. HR representatives will also be available to answer questions about licensure, salary, benefits and scheduling.

Administrators encourage qualified teachers with an interest or desire to work for the school system to attend the job fair and find out about classroom openings they can potentially fill.

"Our school district strives to attract and retain high caliber teachers and administrators at our schools. The annual job fair is a great way for newly certified and veteran educators to learn more about our district and possible openings, as well as visit the Wayne County area to get a glimpse of where they could one day potentially live and work," states Dr. Marvin McCoy, assistant superintendent for human resource services.

Principals from area schools will also be on hand to provide a list of openings at their respective schools and to conduct on-site interviews for prospective teachers.

The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will provide snacks and refreshments for attendees. The Chamber's Teacher Recruitment/Retention Committee will also have representatives on hand to indoctrinate those new to the area about living and working in Wayne County.
