Multi-sports complex tops City Council consent agenda

The Goldsboro City Council will meet Monday, with the council holding a work session at 5:30 p.m. and the regular meeting starting at 7 p.m. in the Council chambers at City Hall.
On the work session agenda are an update on the Arts Council, a presentation on the Praxis Film Festival, a business incentive grant by the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp., and closure of the North End Park tunnel and changes to H.C. Mitchell Park.
On the Council's consent agenda will be a multi-sports complex, conditional use requests for property on the east side of S. Berkeley Boulevard between Ash Street and Elm Street and the south side of U.S. 70 West between U.S. 117 and the Little River, amendments to the city code of ordinances, site and landscape plans for Wendy's restaurant and the Holiday Inn, a subdivision rezoning request for Redco Properties, a resolution supporting regional interstate connectivity in eastern North Carolina and federal property forfeiture program remittance.
The Council also will meet in closed session.
Several proclamations are also on the agenda: the Month of the Military Child, Child Abuse Prevention Month, National Service Day, Physical Fitness Month, Robert and Virginia Gerald and Purple Heart City.
A public comment period will give residents three minutes to speak on any matter of concern.
