A Bailey area man who was in Goldsboro to buy a car he had seen advertised online managed to escape uninjured and with his $3,500 in cash after two men robbed him at gunpoint.

Adrio Lallegos, 25, of 1020 Mavdis Road, Bailey, told police that he saw the car advertised on Craig's List. He contacted the seller who told him to meet on Kornegay Street.

Lallegos was on the 200 block of Oleander Drive shortly after noon Friday when he was approached by two black men.

One pulled a handgun, while the second man took nearly $1,300 in cash and property.

Lallegos said that man told him "Don't look at me."

Both suspects are described as thin back men in their 20s and over 6 feet tall, weighing between 130 to 150 pounds. One had long dreadlocks and a tear-shaped tattoo under his left eye.

The men took a wallet, containing papers and cards, valued at $400, two cell phones valued at $350, a cell phone charger valued at $50, a bag valued at $120 and $400 in cash.

However, the thieves did not find the $3,500 that Lallegos had hidden (the report didn't say where) that he was planning to use to buy the car.

Lallegos told police that he had looked again for the online ad but could not find it.
