DUDLEY -- Rain, and the threat of more, hurt attendance during the first weekend of the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fair.
But a strong lineup of entertainers -- and lots of sunshine -- turned those numbers around.
"We ended on a really positive note," Fair Manager Milton Ingram said. "We're very pleased."
More then 95,000 people attended this year's fair, and the final day saw the second largest Saturday crowd in history.
"We think we had a real good fair in place," Ingram said. "We've had a lot of good compliments."
And hearing how much people enjoyed themselves was special for the man who, after 28 years, will step down as manager at the end of the year.
"The most satisfying thing to me is that I can look around and see all these improvements that have been made out here," Ingram said. "It's been a very interesting ride."
