Armed robbery

The Hasty Mart, 501 N. Berkeley Blvd., was held up at gunpoint Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. According to a police report, the robber entered the convenience store, showed a silver handgun and demanded the money. The robber exited the store and headed toward the back of the building where he was last seen. The store clerk and two witnesses were unharmed.

Shooting

Before 10 p.m. Wednesday residents in the 200 block of Alpha Court called police to report gunshots. Witnesses saw two vehicles, a red SUV and a white car, with occupants exchanging gunfire. The red SUV was later found abandoned in a parking lot on North William Street. According to the report filed by the Goldsboro Police Department, two men walking in the area were identified as having been in the SUV when the shooting happened and they, along with one other, are identified as the victims. The suspects remain unknown, and no charges have been filed.

Break-in

Unknown suspects broke in through the back door and robbed the home of Melynda Sullivan Snead, 49, 1107 Overman Road, Tuesday. The perpetrators broke a window pane and opened the door from the outside. Once inside the home, suspects stole digital camera equipment and jewelry worth more than $8,000. A strange man was seen Monday around the home but left quickly when confronted by Snead's daughter.
