Obtaining property by false pretenses
A Goldsboro man's debit card was used, along with 27 other stolen card numbers, to make a payment to an Alltel customer service account. According to a police report, Edward Richardson, Slocumb Street, noticed the unauthorized charge and contacted Alltel. Alltel then discovered the multiple payments to the prepaid account, all made the same day and by different bank accounts, according to Goldsboro police.
Breaking and entering to a motor vehicle
A 2012 Honda Accord was broken into outside the home of Ashley Henke, 300 block Benton Street. Henke, owner of the vehicle, told Goldsboro police that she was certain she locked the doors of her vehicle before going into her apartment Tuesday before 6 p.m. When she returned to her car Wednesday at 11 a.m., her GPS, along with a purse, loose change and a purple diamond ring were missing from the vehicle. There was no sign of forced entry or damage to the door or windows. The value of the items taken was listed at $520.
Bad check
An employee of Toyota of Goldsboro, 300 block North Oak Forest Road, reported that a customer paid the down payment on a vehicle she purchased with a worthless check. An employee told Goldsboro police that he took the payment and sent it to the bank. The bank returned the check stating that a stop payment had been placed on it.
Break-in, larceny
Upon returning home from a three-week hospital stay, Jo Ann Hill, 46, 100 block Guinnevere Lane, discovered her home had been ransacked and robbed. Among the items taken were a 46-inch flat screen television, a DVDV player and a laptop computer. The value of the stolen items was less than $1,300, according to Goldsboro police.
