Swimmers earn medals

RALEIGH -- The Wayne County Special Olympics Swim Team brought home 12 first-place ribbons and three second-place, one third-place and one fourth-place ribbons from the 17th annual Multi-State Invitational Swim Meet held at the Pullen Park Aquatic Center.
The Wayne County team consisted of Wayne Barfield, Crystal Rouse, Mack Jennette, Leah Jones, Chris Yokley, Connor LaLuz, David McRoy, Zachary Scher, Brett Drak, Jessie McCraken, Heather Pardue and Jesse Martinez.
The team is coached by Karen Sellner, Donna Countryman and Richard Kendall.
