Donnell Johnson buys a Mega Millions lottery ticket from clerk Chasity Schoolcraft at the Downeast Travel Center in Mar-Mac this morning. Millions of people around the country are snatching up the tickets as they prepare for this evening's drawing, which is estimated at more than $540 million -- the largest ever. A $540 million jackpot, if taken as a $390 million lump sum and after federal tax withholding, works out to about $293 million. Experts say you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than winning, but that is not stopping people from buying their tickets.
