WEMCHS pageant set for Thursday

Nine young women will compete for the title of Miss Wayne Early Middle College High School for 2012.
The pageant will be held Thursday, March 15 in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College. The theme for the evening will be "Uptown Girl."
The contestants are:
*Emily Mitchell, 17, is the daughter of Steve and Ellen Mitchell. For talent, she will perform a jazz dance to "Feeling Good," by Michael Buble.
*Nicole Auman, 17, is the daughter of Gary and Cathy Auman. She will perform a dance to the song "Happy," by Leona Lewis.
*Tessa Weeks, 18, is the daughter of Debbie and David Weeks. She will perform "Beach Buggy Boogie" on the piano.
*Michaela Denton, 18, is the daughter of Ned and Linda Denton. She will sing "Walkin' After Midnight.
*Diana Posey, 18, is the daughter of Ned and Linda Denton. She will sing "Suddenly I See."
*Sarah Harrell, 18, is the daughter of Mark and Sheila Harrell. She will perform a contemporary dance to "Falling Star."
*Heather Avila, 17, is the daughter of Jose and Yolanda Avila and Rebecca Cooper. She will perform a Spanish dance to "You" by Romeo Santos.
*Alyssa Turnage, 18, is the daughter Michael and Catherine Turnage. She will sing "Gimme, Gimme," from the Broadway play "Thoroughly Modern Millie."
*Rhonda Strickland, 17, is the daughter of Melvin Strickland and Pam Weatherspoon. She will sing "Home Sweet Home."
Kirk Keller will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
