Thomas to lead Wayne Health Physicians

Louis Thomas of Asheville has been named executive director of Wayne Health Physicians.
Wayne Health Physicians, an affiliate of Wayne Health Corp., is made up of five medical practices with 16 physicians, including primary care and subspecialty care doctors.
In his new role, Thomas will manage operations of the five practices affiliated with Wayne Health Physicians and Wayne Memorial Hospital: Eskra Plastic Surgery, Goldsboro Medical Clinic, Goldsboro Orthopedics, Wayne Health Medical Clinic and Wayne Health Psychiatric Services.
Prior to being hired in December, Thomas was vice president of strategic development for Scotland Healthcare System in Laurinburg, a 105-bed, non-profit acute care hospital system managed by Carolinas Healthcare System. There he led efforts to expand operations to improve patient care primarily through physician recruitment and financial management. He worked directly with the system's cancer center, cardiac services, imaging and rehabilitation departments as well as wound care, employee health, marketing and community relations and medical staff services.
Thomas also has experience as an information system analyst and a staff consultant.
