FREMONT -- A 17-year-old Fremont youth was arrested after police heard he was allegedly selling marijuana from the window of his home.

Brandon Lee Hester, of 202 E. South St., was charged Monday with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fremont police Chief Paul Moats said his department has received complaints of drug activity taking place at the residence in recent months, including the unusual drive-through window sale method.

About 6:45 p.m. Monday, Moats noticed the window to the home open and he approached it himself.

He said he startled Hester and two other men in the room when they saw him standing at the window.

Looking into the room, Moats said he was able to see several pipes used for smoking marijuana.

When another officer arrived, Moats entered the home and proceeded to search the bedroom, after being given consent.

Moats located more than 37 grams of marijuana, several pipes, two digital scales, a grinder and sandwich bags.

Also found was a black notebook containing a written ledger that listed the names of people who owed Hester money and the amount owed.

Moats said Hester was on probation for possession of stolen property at the time of his arrest.

He was placed under a $1,500 secured bond.

Moats said the community members who alerted police of the apparent illegal activity are responsible for the arrest and drug seizure.

"I give credit of this arrest to the citizens of Fremont," Moats said. "With continued cooperation we can make many more arrests in the future."
