Man shot to death Sunday night

One man died and another received minor injuries when a gunshot was fired into the two victims' car as they were riding down the 900 block of Olivia Lane on Sunday night.
Darrel Best, 21, was taken by ambulance to Wayne Memorial Hospital after Goldsboro police responded to a report of gunshots fired at 10:19 p.m., but he was never admitted to the emergency department and was pronounced dead.
Brandon Turner, 18, was treated for minor injuries and released.
Capt. Anthony Carmen with the Goldsboro Police Department said it appeared Turner was struck by "shrapnel from the richochet" of the gunshot and was not hit directly.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Carmen said.
