Man shot
Romeo Pantoja Jr., 20, of South Pointe Drive in Mount Olive was reportedly shot in the right leg while in his 2007 Ford Mustang at 300 S. Pointe Road.
The shooter was said to be traveling west on Indian Springs Road following the gunshot in a burgundy Chevrolet or Oldsmobile with a white top. It was reported that the weapon used was a handgun.
The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the shooting.
Car stolen
When Earl Nixon, Jr., 27, stepped into The Donel-Express Mart at 518 E. Elm St., he left Miranda Nixon's 2007 Nissan Altima running in the parking lot, and when he returned, the car was gone.
Mrs. Nixon, 52, of Rose Street, reported her car, estimated to be worth $17,000, as stolen to Goldsboro police. Officers are still investigating the incident.
Dirt bike stolen
Shaun Saunders, 18, of Quinton, Va., told Goldsboro police that his Kawasaki dirt bike was stolen out of his trailer between 11:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 5.
The bike, which is estimated to be worth $3,500, was stolen from the parking lot of Days Inn on U.S. 70 East Bypass. The Goldsboro Police Department is still investigating the theft.
Fire deemed suspicious
The Goldsboro Fire Department has called a structure fire at an abandoned building at 2522 E. Ash St. suspicious.
About $5,000 worth of damage was believed to be suffered on the interior of the structure, owned by Horace Calvin, 81.
The fire is being investigated as the front door was found to be secure, but the back door to the building was discovered to be open following the fire.
Breaking and entering
On Aug. 31, a report was filed with the Goldsboro Police Department regarding a breaking and entering into a building and theft of metal property in the 800 block of U.S. 117 South, sometime between Aug. 29 and Aug. 31. Any persons with information in this case is asked to call the Goldsboro Wayne County Crime Stoppers Program at 735-2255 or TEXT Crime Stoppers at 273-6585.
Mailboxes damaged
Six mailboxes on Nahunta Road have been damaged in what appears to be a single incident whereby the mailboxes were knocked over or otherwise damaged by an unknown object.
Dorothy Russell, 50, of Nahunta Road, reported her mailbox had been knocked over to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with three of her other neighbors' mailboxes. Mrs. Russell also reported there was slight damage done to her 2010 Toyota Corolla as well.
An investigating officer noticed that two other mailboxes had also been damaged and notified the residents, leading to a second report.
The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the incidents.
