Jury selection was scheduled to begin today in Wayne County Superior Court in the trial of David Arron Roberts, 32, of Dudley, who is facing multiple charges of sexual assault against children.
Roberts may face up to two counts of first-degree sex offense, two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of third-degree sex exploit of a child.
The court could also hear a charge of assault on a child under 12, which has been appealed from district court.
Wayne County Assistant District Attorney Paige Rouse will determine today which charges will be heard.
Defense attorney Charles Gurley is representing Roberts.
Roberts was originally jailed in November 2009 on a charge of first-degree sexual offense with a child. While incarcerated, Roberts has been charged with additional offenses.
Roberts was indicted in March of 2010 on first-degree sexual offense and indecent liberties, which may have occurred between October and November 2009.
Roberts was again indicted by a Wayne County Grand Jury in September 2010 for possession of material that contained a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity.
He also was indicted that month on first-degree sexual offense and indecent liberties -- charges stemming from incidents believed to have occurred between 2005 and 20008.
Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Jay Hockenbury will be presiding.
