Identity thefts
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating two reports of identity theft in the area.
Charles Albert Thomas II, 35, of Lucy Smith Road in Mount Olive told deputies that an AT&T mobile phone account had been opened in his name in Virginia. Thomas also said that a $1,900 home equity loan had been opened and a 2011 Chevrolet truck was purchased under his name.
Tammie Capps Harrison of N.C. 111 also reported that an identity thief had filed for a federal tax refund for her husband, who passed away in July 2010.
Assault
Christopher James Shelby, 24, told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies he was walking along Daw Pate Road in Pikeville when a man pulled up beside him in a vehicle, stopped, got out and assaulted him with his fists.
Thefts
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these thefts:
*Michael Charles Bailey, 44, Norwood Avenue reported the theft of almost $4,000 items from his home. The items taken and their values were: 42-inch flat-screen TV, $700; laptop computer, $700; laptop computer, $500; Xbox 360, $300; Xbox 360 accessories, $450; 22-inch flat-screen TV, $300; 1941 German Luger, $1,000.
*Almost $2,300 worth of items were reported stolen during a break-in at the home of Finlay Blake Johnson, 26, Beech Street. Items taken and their values were: $20 in cash; desktop computer, $750; laptop computer, $400; two laptop computers, $200 each; three rings $200 each; gold chains, $300. Damages totaled $150 to a window and rear door.
*Ashley Denise Darlington, 26, Hooks Road, Fremont reported the theft of $4,000 in copper wiring and tubing from a house on Andrews Street in Goldsboro that has been vacant since 2009.
*Eugene Hobbs, 43, Sunny South Street reported the theft of two laptop computers valued at $500 each and an iPod valued at $50.
*Haithan Mohamed Aldofari, 38, Harris Street reported the theft of several items from his home. The items and their values were: 42-inch flat-screen TV, $800; laptop computer, $500; laptop computer, $300; $100 in cash; wallet, $30. Damages totaled $350 to a door and door frame.
*Items valued at $5,600 were reported stolen by Kenneth Leon Correll, 27, East Ash Street. Items taken and their values were: flat-screen TV, $800; game system, $500; PlayStation games, $250; .38 caliber handgun, $450; diamond ring, $2,200; 25 miscellaneous baseball caps, $800; six watches, $600.
*Issac J. Headen, 19, North Kornegay Street, told police that he had ordered a debit card, but never received it. However, he said someone had gotten the card, activated it and had made $1,600 in purchases.
*Emma Robertson, 54, Avalon Drive, reported the theft of a gold necklace with three diamonds valued at $2,000.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating these thefts:
*Christopher Levon Reid, 48, of Durham Lake Road reported that two air conditioning units, a generator and an air compressor which together were estimated to be worth about $800 was stolen from his residence.
*Lisa Lewis, 42, of Clayton Road in Princeton reported that her door was not secure when she arrived at her residence. She found that $2,000 worth of damage had been done to her sheet rock walls, and that a glass window and picture frame had been damaged.
