27-year-old faces charges in assault on 11-year-old girl

A 27-year-old Goldsboro man has been charged with sexual assault in connection with an incident involving an 11-year-old girl.
Johnnie Ray Willis Jr., of Harris Street, was arrested and charged today with one count of indecent liberties with a child.
The arrest was the latest step in an investigation stemming from a report filed with the Goldsboro Police Department claiming the child was touched inappropriately.
Goldsboro police Sgt. Dwayne Dean said Willis was a friend of the family.
Dean said that it appears the charge is based on a single incident that occured between Nov. 28 and Dec. 10. The report was filed by the victim's mother around midnight on Dec. 10.
Willis was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $12,000 secured bond.
Willis was released after posting the bond the day of his arrest.
