A Mount Olive area man robbed at gunpoint earlier this week is offering a $1.500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprits.
For William White, Nov. 29 began as a typical Monday night.
The 27-year-old sat on his couch watching music videos and trying to get over a head cold.
Around 8 p.m., White heard his pit bull barking outside his home. He assumed his dog was barking at a deer or rabbit passing through the wooded area that surrounds his secluded home on Strawberry Lane near Mount Olive.
But then heard the rumbling of a vehicle and saw headlights approaching his home.
A dark-colored Dodge pick-up pulled into his yard and a man inside asked about lost hunting dogs.
At that point, a second man came out from the surrounding woods carrying a handgun and ordered White into the house.
Once inside the home, White offered the men to take what they wanted and leave but the ignored him and ordered him to remove his clothing, then forced him into his bedroom. While in the bedroom, White was forced to keep his head against a wall while the man kept the firearm pointed at him.
White said he was in the room with the armed man for about four minutes. While White was held at gunpoint, the driver of the truck and a third man, who White never saw, stole his television, two games consoles, games, cell phone, sunglasses and his wallet.
The men then left. White was not harmed physically. Law enforcement is investigating the robbery.
