Tammie Hedges, director of Purrrfect Friends Feline Shelter and Adoption, looks out of the cage she has locked herself in at Tractor Supply on Cashwell Street in Goldsboro. Hedges has spent the last two days locked in the cage to raise money for Purrrfect Friends and Wayne County Pit Bull Rescue. Hedges is committed to stay in her self-imposed cell until she raises $2,000. Donations of cat and dog food, litter, and other supplies also will be accepted.
