Ride for the Red set for Saturday

The sixth annual Blue Knights NC IX "Ride for the Red" fundraiser will be held on Saturday.
*Registration for the ride and breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. at the Wayne County Red Cross office at 600 N. George St. Cost is $20 per rider, $10 per co-rider.
Bidding on silent auction items also will start at this time.
*The ride starts at 11 a.m. It will be a scenic ride of more than 70 miles. When the riders return, lunch will be served, there will be games, drawings for door prizes and winners announced for silent auction. Each rider will receive a T-shirt and a barbecue plate. This is included in the registration fee.
*Barbecue plates will go on sale at 11:30 a.m. They are $6 each and must be purchased in advance. Pick-up only. Drive-through from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Red Cross Chapter.
All proceeds from the motorcycle ride and barbecue plate sale will benefit the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Money will be used to aid victims of single family fires in our community.
