TEAMMATES and the Mount Olive Parks and Recreation Department are joining to sponsor an inaugural TEAMMATES Golf Tournament on Saturday at the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course to help raise money for the TEAMMATES baseball program in Mar Mac and Mount Olive.
McDonald's will be sponsoring the hole-in one-prizes for the tournament, including a chance to win a vacation for two to Pinehurst Resort.
The tournament will be two-man superball, with registration from 11 a.m. until noon, lunch from noon until 1:30 p.m. and the first tee time at 12:30, with groups following every eight minutes.
Cost is $50 per person or $100 for a team. Prepaid teams will receive earlier tee times.
Other events planned for the day include closest to the pin, mulligan ball, handicap bundles and a 50-50 drawing.
Lunch and soft drinks will be provided for all participants.
The rain date is April 10.
TEAMMATES is a program that uses baseball as a starting point to teach character building skills to youngsters. Organizers hope it will grow and spread to other areas of Wayne County.
