Three Goldsboro convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint on Thursday evening, city police said this morning.
All three robberies involved black males unknown to the clerks who brandished handguns.
Capt. Jeff Stewart said the first robbery took place at the Dollar General at 1015 N. Spence Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
At least one man was carrying a handgun.
Two unknown black males entered the store and attempted to rob the clerks, but later left and took nothing, Stewart said.
The second incident took place just 10 minutes later at the Handy Mart at 2011 U.S. 70 West, according to the report.
Two black males entered the store with handguns and demanded money. They made off with $70 cash and the cash register drawer, which is valued at $20.
The third robber was similar to the second, taking place about 10:10 p.m.
Two black males entered the store with handguns and demanded money, getting $80 and again making off with the cash drawer, valued at around $20.
Further information about the suspects' description was not available before press time.
