Cherry worker found innocent of beating

A jury found a former Cherry Hospital worker not guilty of a count of felony-level patient abuse or neglect against a Cherry Hospital patient under his care in 2006.
James "Allen" Smith, 34, of U.S. 13 outside Goldsboro, was found not guilty by jury of the beating of Dean Smith.
