Goldsboro advances to state finals

Goldsboro High School's boys' basketball team defeated Pender High 58-48 in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1-A east regional finals this morning at Minges Arena on the campus of East Carolina University.
The Cougars advanced to the state championship game next Saturday in Chapel Hill. Goldsboro's senior forward Rasean Brewington was named the regional's most valuable player.
