A scholarship fund has been established at Mount Olive College to assist students preparing for the Christian ministry.
The D. Frank and Anne Exum Hinnant Endowed Ministerial Scholarship Fund was initiated by Hinnant, a retired direct factory representative of Southern Desk Co., who presented the college with two paid insurance policies with instructions to "cash them in."
A 46-acre farm on U.S. 581 was also part of the donation, with proceeds from its sale added to the fund.
Hinnant and his wife lived in Fremont. They were married for 64 years until her death in 2006.
Their recent gifts, in memory of several relatives also active in the Free Will Baptist denomination, will assist others preparing for the ministry.
