Semi-truck operator Teresa Creech Morgan sits in the grass behind her cab after she hit William Godwin, who had just finished cutting grass, and then plowed into a house on Luby Smith Road, off U.S. Highway 70, near Princeton on Monday morning.

An elderly man was struck by a semi-truck cab while cutting grass along Luby Smith Road off of U.S. 70 near Princeton Monday morning. The truck, driven by Teresa Creech Morgan of Stevens Mill Road, then ran into the house at 389 Luby Smith Road. William Godwin, 71, of Luby Smith Road, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Highway Patrol troopers say the accident is still under investigation. See Tuesday's News-Argus for more information.
