Goldsboro police investigators charged a Charlotte man and another this week after a Monday robbery that sounded all too familiar.

A month-long, 12-robbery crime spree ended with the arrest of Anthony Jerome Lee late last week.

But spokesmen for Goldsboro police and the county sheriff's office worried about boasting that the streets were safe, fearing possible copycat attempts.

The Monday robbery had a few similarities to the spree.

A slim black male with a shotgun took a deposit bag from a restaurant manager trying to deposit it, police said.

But in this case, police made arrests less than two days after the incident occurred.

Police charged two men in the Monday hold-up of Ruby Tuesday manager Freddie King at First Citizens Bank at the intersection of Spence Avenue and East Ash Street.

Rashad LeQuan Lane, 22, Azure Valley, Charlotte, is accused of approaching King at the bank.

Lane faces counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon, and was jailed under $200,000 bond.

Also charged was East Mulberry Street resident, Gregory De Quon Caruth, 19, who was jailed under $50,000 bond for his role in the robbery.

Restaurant manager King was reluctant to talk about the incident.

"I just got a gun pulled on me when I went up to the bank," he said.
