Beaufort man leads police on car chase

Police say an intoxicated Beaufort man driving a stolen car under a revoked license refused to stop after being clocked at a high rate of speed on Spence Avenue.
Kevin Earl Guthrie, 25, led police on a chase Tuesday morning into Lenoir County, according to a release.
Lenoir sheriff's deputies used tire puncture sticks to immobilize Guthrie's vehicle, police said.
The chase ended with Guthrie's arrest with out further incident in a parking lot of a Kinston Lowe's Home Improvement Center, police said.
Guthrie was jailed under $75,000 bond, police said.
