*Stevie A. Cox of Carlyle Circle told Goldsboro police somebody wrote a numeral 1 in front of the $10.72 check he wrote at Food Lion, 1322 W. Grantham St. and received $100 back from the bank. Cox said he discovered the forgery when he checked his bank account on line and found it was $100 short. The report said he could not describe the cashier.
*T&T Car Wash at 500 N. George St. reported that somebody cut the line to the company's oil tank and stole $157 worth of oil from the drum. Damage to the line came to $65.
*Budget Kings Conveni-ence Store at 622 N. Madison Ave. reported somebody entered the business through the side door and removed $1,565 worth of items including cash, three digital scales, a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and Blue Nike Air Force Ones.
*Catherine Jones Shedrick of Banks Avenue told police somebody broke into her 2004 Chevrolet Suburban while it was parked at a recreation facility at 1105 Parkway Drive and stole $286 worth of items including her purse, cash, cell phone, two credit cards, her check book, driver's license and Social Security card.
*Brittney Alexandria Fisher of West Oak Street reported a break-in at her home and the theft of $1,050 worth of items, including a desk top computer and PSP Game System and games, cell phone with charger, DVD player with remote and keyboard and mouse wireless set. Damage to the window screen cut to gain entry was $20.
*Clesha R. Hall of West Oak Street said thieves entered her home and took a Nintendo and Playstation II and the games for both, all valued at $370.
*Wayne County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a break-in at a house on Cobb Coley Lane owned by Charles Edward Hickman of Green Drive. The report said $1,409 worth of items were reported stolen, including a computer, a bicycle, a 62-inch big screen television, water pump, Army helmet, crowbar and hand saw. The report said $280 worth of items were recovered, including the computer, bicycle, crowbar and hand saw. The house was last secured Tuesday, and the break-in was discovered around 5 p.m. Thursday. Damage to the window used to gain entry came to $125.
