As thermometers drop and energy prices likely start to climb, local residents and businesses can learn no-cost and low-cost ways to save on energy bills at two free educational workshop "Reducing Energy Expenses at Your Home and Business."
The first will be held Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Wayne Center. It's for businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The second is set for Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Wayne Center. It's for homeowners and renters.
They are being sponsored by the State Energy Office of the North Carolina Department of Administration and the E-Conservation program of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
The workshops will include energy-saving tips and case studies as well as information on no-cost and low-cost assistance offered by the E-Conservation program and the SEO.
"We believe these workshops are an excellent opportunity for North Carolinians to learn more about the economic benefits of energy efficiency," said Larry Shirley, SEO director. "We will offer important information that can help homeowners significantly cut their utility bills and help businesses maintain their edge in an increasingly competitive global economy."
