Make a Difference Day Oct. 27

Wayne County residents will be doing a variety of community service projects during Make A Difference Day 2007 on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Make A Difference Day is sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation and the Volunteer Center National Network. In Wayne County, the event is coordinated by Volunteer Wayne/RSVP .
Make a Difference Day was initiated by USA Weekend magazine as a way for individuals and groups across the nation to join in a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors, said Barbara Stiles, director of Volunteer Wayne/RSVP.
She said Volunteer Wayne/RSVP can help a group plan a project. Other tips are also offered on the Points of Light Foundation's website, www.makeadiffferenceday.com.
Last year, Wayne County residents participated in a number of projects.
