Youth art classes offered

The Arts Council of Wayne County is offering a four-day children's painting class with Penny Craven the week of June 18-21.
The theme will be "Whimsical Whirligig Paintings."
The Arts Council will exhibit paintings created in Craven's class, along with an exhibit of Lucama folk artist Vollis Simpson's whirligigs, beginning in August.
The class is $50, with ages 4 and 5 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., ages 6-8 from 11 a.m. until noon and ages 9-12 from 1-2 p.m.
