Suspect caught

after chase

Sunday evening, four Goldsboro police officers responded to a breaking and entering call on Central Heights Road. When they arrived at the scene, the victim described a man who had allegedly entered his residence. The suspect fled on foot and was pursued for several blocks by officers Wilson, Hayes, Gilstrap and Smith of the Goldsboro Police Department's B Shift until he was finally detained. Christopher John Giesey, 31, of Pine Street, was charged with first-degree burglary and resisting arrest and was placed in Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. Wayne County Sheriff's K-9 Deputy Jayson Hill and K-9 Cora assisted in the pursuit.
