Investigations
The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:
*Lashvonda Latrice Sutton said a man she knows kicked in her door and assaulted her with his hands and a wooden stick, also doing $120 worth of damage to the door and a coffee table, at her home on Harris Street. The suspect fled before police arrived. Emergency workers took her to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
*A break-in was reported Tuesday at Greenleaf Grace Village, 2101 N. William St., Goldsboro. The report said someone pried open the shed door and took a push mower, a Weed Eater and two gas cans, all valued at $470.
*Somebody reportedly stole Wilbert Bernard Orr's 1992 Chevrolet Lumina while it was parked at somebody else's home on East Mulberry Street. Orr lives in LaGrange. The white Lumina was valued at $800.
*Somebody ripped a large number of shingles off a community building at 428 E. Seymour Drive over the weekend. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
*Police are looking for a Goldsboro woman suspected of Internet fraud. According to the police report, a complaint filed by Jennifer Parsons of Strongsville, Ohio, to the Internet Fraud Complaint Center implicated a woman who lives in Goldsboro in her loss of $865. She said she "won" an eBay auction for a Gucci handbag. She said she paid for it by money order and did not receive the bag or a refund.
*Ricky Dean Wyatt of Overman Road said somebody stole his $1,500 power washer from the back of his pickup truck while it was parked at Sam's Club.
*Police are looking for a Goldsboro woman who reportedly forged several Lortab prescriptions. An employee at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy at 1002 N. Spence Ave., said she became suspicious and called a doctor at Goldsboro Orthopedic Association about a prescription that was supposedly called in from there, and the doctor confirmed her suspicions. The prescription was false. The report said several similar attempts have been made using Goldsboro Orthopedic, dating back to January.
*Julie Ann Russell of New Hope Road said somebody keyed her 1996 Honda Accord while it was parked in front of her apartment. Damage was $400.
Body found
The body of a 19-year-old Walnut Creek woman was found Tuesday afternoon by authorities at a home on Lakeshore Drive. Walnut Creek Police Chief Delisa Staps said Claire Sauls died from a gunshot wound. No foul play was suspected. Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted in the investigation.
