The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce's four-week long membership awareness campaign kicks off Thursday night with a membership appreciation celebration.
Patty Graham, the chamber's director of membership and marketing, said the celebration will unite and honor former, current and future members. Attendees will have a chance to learn what the chamber has done for the community since it began more than 100 years ago.
"There are a lot of organizations that began through the Chamber that are still here today like Crime Stoppers and Keep Wayne County Beautiful," she said.
The celebration will be held from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at The Brick Village at 501 Patetown Road. It is sponsored by Time Warner Cable and Wayne Memorial Hospital and will be catered by Koi Asian Bistro.
During the four-week campaign, chamber members will be be visiting potential members, explaining the benefits of membership and describing the organization's various functions.
For reservations for Thursday's celebration, people should call the chamber at 734-2234.
