June 1 deadline for farm program

The deadline to register for the 2006 crop Direct and Counter-cyclical Payment Program at the Wayne County Farm Service Agency Office is Thursday, June 1.
FSA will accept late-filed DCP applications through Sept. 30, if accompanied by a $100 late fee. Producers will be unable to apply for 2006 DCP payments after Sept. 30.
Producers that have initiated a DCP contract but have not obtained all the necessary signatures will also have to pay the late file fee to be enrolled. Changes in farm operations that require the addition of other producers to a DCP contract will also be accepted after June 1, if accompanied by a $100 late fee.
