New ADA sworn in

Richard R. "Rusty" Perlungher has been sworn in as a new assistant district attorney for the 8th Judicial District that includes Wayne, Greene and Lenoir counties.
Perlungher came from Cleveland County, where he was an assistant district attorney. His brother, Tom, was added to the DA's staff last September. The brothers are the sons of Jane Rustin, the Wayne County librarian.
The new assistant was sworn in by Superior Court Judge Gary Trawick of Burgaw. Perlungher replaced Chrissy Mason, who resigned to begin a private law practice.
