Six Goldsboro police officers are attending a two-day Governor's Highway Safety Program law-enforcement kickoff meeting at Atlantic Beach.
Capts. Glenn Barnes, Al King, Mike Conerly and John Biggins and Sgts. Grayham Keesler and Mike West were updated today on 2005 enforcement campaigns -- "Click It or Ticket" to encourage use of seat belts and "Booze It and Lose It" to discourage impaired driving.
The spring Click It or Ticket campaign will be held from May 23 through the Memorial Day weekend to June 12.
Last year officers issued more than 350,000 citations during the two campaigns, including 11,160 for driving while impaired and 55,813 for seat-belt and child-seat violations.
