MOUNT OLIVE -- Students majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies are putting their experience and education to work planning "Cupid's Care," a Valentine party for area youth ages 3 through 12.
Proceeds from the event on Feb. 14 will go toward the Tsunami Relief Fund set up by the college.
Parents can spend an evening out on the town while their children participate in their own kind of Valentine's Day fun between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in College Hall on the main campus of Mount Olive College. The cost is just $10 per child and includes adult supervised age-appropriate games, edible art, wacky competitions, sweet prizes, Valentine's Day crafts, snacks, and more surprises.
The Recreation Majors Club is excited about planning the event, said Dr. Jill Mills of the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department. She said the students across campus have gotten involved in the college's collective effort to raise funds for Tsunami victims.
Interested parents should contact Dr. Mills at 658-7879 or jmills@moc.edu to reserve a spot.
For planning purposes all participants must be registered in advance. Children may arrive anytime after 5:30 p.m. and be picked up anytime before 8:30 p.m.
