Stephanie Leigh Cox and Ashton Brooks Langston exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 14, 2016, at half past four at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with Mr. Gary Bailey officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Fenton Charles and Katherine Culbreth Cox of Goldsboro, N.C., and the granddaughter of Helen Tyner Cooper of Goldsboro, N.C., the late Paul Cox of Goldsboro, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. George Culbreth of Doylestown, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Horne of Goldsboro, N.C.

She is a 2009 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. The bride graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a bachelor of science degree in human biology. The bride also graduated from Wayne Community College in 2015 with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Jerry Dwight and Kimberly Best Langston of Goldsboro, N.C., and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Victor D. Langston of Fremont, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thirl Best of Mount Olive, N.C.

He is a 2006 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a firefighter with the city of Goldsboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless mermaid gown with crystal lace by Legends by Romona Keveza with a waltz-length veil with crystal lace also by Legends by Romona Keveza. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white peonies, white hydrangeas, white roses, white tulips, green hypericum berries and white dendrobium orchids.

Brittany Oliver, friend of bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Cameron Langston, sister of the groom, and Hope Mimitz, friend of the bride.

Jerry Langston, father of groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Jason Bingham and Austin Hood, friends of the groom.

Katie Peters was flower girl. Waylen Cox, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Wendy Pittman directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jenny Westbrook, friend of the couple.

Whitney Grantham, friend of the bride was vocalist.

The reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Goldsboro.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Goldsboro Event Center.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower hosted by friends and family of the bride held at Selah Christian Church; a couple’s cookout hosted by the bride’s family; a spring-themed shower hosted by Mrs. Kim Langston at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church; a grill-and-chill cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harrell; a bachelorette weekend held in Savannah, Ga.,hosted by Ms. Brittany Oliver; a bachelor weekend held in Baltimore, Md., hosted by friends of the groom; and a bridal luncheon held May 13 at Ed’s in downtown Goldsboro hosted by the mother of the bride.
