Casey Brooke Pate and Matthew Shea Braswell exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 11, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Mickey Whitfield officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Donald Pate Jr. of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Mrs. Iris Underhill Pate and the late Mr. Alonzo Donald Pate of Mount Olive and Mr. and Mrs. William F. Outlaw of Mount Olive.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Anthony Braswell of Faison and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.Charles Bradley Braswell of Warsaw and the late Mr. and Mrs.Raymond Willie Taylor of Kenansville.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of North Duplin High School and a 2010 graduate of BLET from Sampson Community College. He is employed as a deputy sheriff with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Department.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The bride wore a white strapless soft-sweetheart neckline gown in a mermaid silhouette with a beaded lace overlay. The bodice was lined with silky satin, and the skirt was layered with netting. Beaded lace overlay was accented with additional beaded lace appliques accented with fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals and crystal sequins. The back of the gown flowed into a semi-cathedral length gown. The bride also wore a single-tiered elbow-length veil embellished with pearls. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white mini calla lilies, white Gerber daisies and green mini hydrangeas with mixed greenery. The stems were adorned with white ribbon and studded pearl pins.

Alonna Christine Pate, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Brittney Nicole Coley, friend of the bride, Jenny Lee Coley, friend of the bride, Danielle Nicole Keel, friend of the bride, and Alyssa Kaygen Herring, cousin of the bride.

Bradley Joseph Braswell, brother of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Alonzo Donald Pate III, brother of the bride, Matthew Ryan Potter, friend of the groom, Mitcheal Joyner King, friend of the groom, and Michael Glenn Braswell, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Matthew Phillip Sasser, friend of the couple, Stephen Matthew Whitfield, friend of the groom, and Jason Alan Nunn, friend of the groom.

Maggie Reece Outlaw, cousin of the bride was flower girl.

William Gage Outlaw, cousin of the bride was ringbearer.

Mrs. Renee Outlaw Bell, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. John William Outlaw, uncle and aunt of the bride. Rylee Marie Pate and Abbey Taylor Pate, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Sound coordinator was Mrs. Dondi Hobbs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Ms. Leigh Ann Underhill, pianist, and Mrs. Brandi Worth, vocalist.

The reception was held outside at the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr and Mrs. William F. Outlaw. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Keith Pate and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Pate Jr. Ms. Lynn Pate and Ms. Janet Pate, aunts of the bride, served cake.

After a wedding cruise from Charleston, S.C., to the Bahamas, the couple will reside at 430 Daniel Chestnut Road in Mount Olive, N.C.

A rehearsal dinner pig-picking was held at the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Outlaw.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower given by Candace Outlaw Jan. 6, 2013, at her home; a miscellaneous bridal shower given by Rooty Branch Ladies Auxiliary and family of the bride March 10, 2013; a miscellaneous wedding shower given by Faison Presbyterian Women April 7, 2013; a honey-do cookout given by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Outlaw April 13, 2013, at the family cabin; a bridal shower given by the bride’s co-workers at Wayne Memorial Hospital (2nd floor) May 9, 2013; a bachelorette/lingerie party given by the bridal party in Myrtle Beach, S.C., March 15-17; and a bridal luncheon hosted by Renee Bell and Candace Outlaw at the home of Christine Outlaw May 4, 2013, at which time the bride presented her bridal party with gifts.
