Meredith Paige Ward and Will Robert Kelly of Calypso exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 14, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at Walnut Creek Country Club, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Coley Ward and the late Michael Richard Ward of Calypso and the granddaughter of Warren and Wilma Kornegay Jones of Mount Olive and the late Ralph and Joyce Goodwin Coley of Mount Olive.

She is a graduate of North Duplin High School and a graduate of Sampson Community College with a degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Southeastern Medical Oncology Center.

The groom is the son of John Robert and Connie Cottle Kelly of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late Robert Perry and Dorothy Anderson Kelly of Mount Olive and Will Carroll Cottle Sr. and the late Peggy Grimes Cottle of Calypso.

He is a graduate of North Duplin High School, and is employed with Progress Energy.

The bride was escorted by Jason Neil Worley and given in marriage by her mother.

She wore a formal ivory satin gown that was designed with a strapless neckline. The fitted bodice and dropped waist were both embellished with crystal beads and accented with cafe satin bands. Her full skirt was accented with crystal beads along with silver embroidery above three cafe satin bands that accentuated the hemline, while cafe satin bridal buttons finished the look of the semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was an ivory fingertip single-tiered veil of silk illusion outlined with crystal beading and silver embroidery.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, white alstroemeria, pink caspia, green button poms and white mini callas.

Lisa Carlson Worley, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Miranda Leigh Ward, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Somer King Tyndall, cousin of the groom; Brittany Nicole Sutton, cousin of the bride; Heather Rouse Kelly, sister-in- law of the groom; and April Leigh Tillman, friend of the couple.

John Robert Kelly, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Jonathan Reid Kelly, brother of the groom; Mitcheal Joyner King, cousin of the groom; and Timothy Lee Wolfe, Ryan Keith Tillman, Brent Austin Bradshaw and Sherman Douglas Hyatt II, friends of the couple.

Landen Reid Kelly, nephew of the groom, was the junior groomsman.

Maggie Frances Brown, cousin of the groom, was flower girl.

Benjamin Lucas Kelly, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

Erin King Brown, cousin of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Ken and Cheryl Sutton, uncle and aunt of the bride. Ruby Jordan Jones and Michaela Ruth Jones, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

Music was provided by Tommy King.

The bride’s mother hosted a reception following the ceremony in the ballroom at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple resides in Calypso.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the home of Will Carroll Cottle Sr. in Calypso.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower hosted by aunts of the bride at Stanford Presbyterian Church; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the family of the groom at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church; a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower in Surf City hosted by the bridesmaids, a miscellaneous shower hosted by the bride’s co-workers at Southeastern Medical Oncology Center; a bridesmaids’ luncheon hosted by Lisa Carlson Worley at her home; and a bachelor weekend hosted by the groomsmen in Surf City.
